Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting

The Christmas Tree at Rockefeller Center has been touted world-wide as a symbol of the holidays in New York City. The tradition of erecting a tree began on Christmas Eve in 1931 and has continued for over 80 years.

This year the tree lighting will be celebrated with special performances on Wednesday November 28th beginning at 7pm. The over 30,000 multi-colored, energy-efficient LED lights will light up the tree along with the Swarovski star that crowns the top.

Since we are located across from Rockefeller Center Plaza, streets will be blocked off on Wednesday November 28th and access into our building will be unavailable after 5pm. If you plan to come in that evening, please arrive by 4:45pm at the latest. Please be safe this holiday season and be sure to sneak a peek at the Rockefeller Christmas Tree when you come visit us!
