Botox is a non-surgical, physician-administered aesthetic treatment for moderate to severe frown lines between the brows in people ages 18 to 65. Botox is a purified protein produced by the Clostridium botulinium bacterium, which reduces the activity of the muscles that cause those persistent frown lines that have developed over time. During treatment in our Manhattan medical spa, very low doses of BOTOX Cosmetic are administered via a few tiny injections directly into the muscles that cause those stubborn lines. Botox Pore Reduction Therapy
Please call 212.644.7400 or email contact@shizukany.com for pricing
Rather than targeting facial expression muscles, this unique BOTOX technique, also known as Intradermal Botox, targets the very muscles that control pore size, the erector pili muscles (also spelled arrector pili). Pore reduction therapy with BOTOX Cosmetic also reduces sweat and oil production in the treated area(s), resulting in a matte, "magazine-cover" finish to the skin. This treatment has little-to-no downtime and is highly effective when combined with a SHIZUKA new york Day Spa deep pore cleansing facial or Intense Pulsed Light treatment.
In female patients, BOTOX Pore Reduction Therapy can lead to a smoother, more even skin texture, making makeup application easier and more effective. In male patients, it can help to relieve overly "shiny" complexions. Another effect of pore shrinking with Intradermal Botox is a reduction of surface area and slight tightening of the skin.
Inquire about SHIZUKA new york's Pore Shrinking Package that combines Botox Pore Reduction Therapy with Intense Pulsed Light and a complimentary GentleWaves™ LED facial treatment by calling 212.644.7400 or emailing contact@shizukany.com.
Underarm Sweat Reduction with Botox
Please call 212.644.7400 or email contact@shizukany.com for pricing
The FDA approved treatment with Botox for severe sweating under the arms (hyperhidrosis) in 2004 after clinical studies showed that 91% of those injected with Botox under the arms showed a 50% reduction of sweat after treatment.† For those with non-severe sweaty underarms, Botox can make New York City life a little more comfortable by reducing concerns and self-consciousness that can arise from underarm sweat. Intradermal Botox injections in the armpit area is also an effective alternative for men and women who are sensitive to antiperspirants and deodorants. Similar to traditional Botox, it may take 4-7 days to see full results. These results will vary between individuals, and generally last 4-6 months.
The cost of Botox therapy at our Manhattan medical spa varies by individual. Understanding that everyone's face is unique Shizuka New York prices Botox per unit injected rather than setting flat rates per facial area. The final price is determined by Dr. Silich and is based on individual muscular features and personal aesthetic goals. Our staff is able to provide general area estimates only. For more information about the cost of Botox, please call 212.644.7400 or email contact@shizukany.com.
Is Botox right for everyone?
Botox is the only treatment of its type approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for smoothing moderate to severe frown lines in women and men between the ages of 18 and 65. Certain conditions may make treatment with Botox unadvisable for those who:
have an infection where Botox will be injected
are pregnant or are planning to become pregnant soon
are breastfeeding
have any diseases that affect the nerves and muscles
For more information, please consult with Dr. Silich at our day spa in NYC.
Does Botox hurt?
Discomfort is usually minimal and brief. Prior to injecting, an anesthetic cream is sometimes applied by Dr. Silich to the area to be treated.
How long does Botox treatment take?
The entire procedure takes approximately 10 minutes. Many people are in and out of our NYC medical spa without downtime following BOTOX® Cosmetic treatment making it convenient to fit into any schedule.
When will I see results?
Generally speaking, results from Botox are not immediate. On average, the full effects of Botox become evident 4 to 7 days following treatment. Those preparing for a special event should plan their Botox treatments accordingly.
Can I return to work or go out after a Botox injection?
Yes. Mild to moderate redness may occur at the site of Botox injection, but this usually resolves within a few hours and is easily covered with makeup. This makes Botox treatment at Shizuka New York perfect as a lunchtime procedure. However, we do not recommend Botox on the day of a special event (see "When will I see results" above). Please keep in mind that you should not consume alcohol after Botox injections.
How long does Botox last?
Results from treatment with BOTOX® Cosmetic can last for up to 4 months. If you discontinue treatment, the frown lines between your brows gradually will look like they did before treatment.
Can I combine Botox with a Shizuka NY facial treatment?
Yes, we recommend having a facial before Botox treatment.
