A Candlelight Vigil for Japan
(Message from Shizuka)

Dear Shizuka NY Insiders,

I was deeply saddened to learn about the devastating earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan early last Friday. While I am relieved to report that my family and the families of my staff are safe and well, we know that there are thousands of Japanese people who remain homeless and without many of the basic things we take for granted such as clean drinking water, food, and electricity.

For this reason, Shizuka New York Day Spa will be holding a “Candlelight Vigil for Japan” through April 17, 2011 where 100% of the proceeds from soy candle sales will benefit the Japanese Chamber of Commerce’s Earthquake Relief Fund.

Our pure soy candles are both eco-friendly and soothing to the senses (you may have noticed them around the spa the last time you visited us). They are available in three scents: Bajan Fig, Night Blooming Jasmine, and White Tea & Ginger.

You can purchase a soy candle online or after your next spa treatment. In addition, we will be waiving all shipping and handling fees within the US for online candle purchases through April 17th.

If you would like to donate without purchasing a candle, I encourage you to mail a donation to the Japanese Chamber of Commerce or donate online via the Japan Society’s Earthquake Relief Fund.

Sincerely,

Shizuka Bernstein, owner
